- Exudate Control and Three Drain Choices: NPWT devices have greatly increased patient comfort as these devices prevent exudate from soiling bedclothes and the patient’s clothes and thus help in protecting the surrounding skin. Gauze-based systems present 3 drain choices, which are placed in the filler just below the adhesive film. The three types of drains are flat drains, channel drains, and round drains.
